“Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is to work hard at work worth doing.”

About Me

I grew up in a small town in central Illinois with two hard-working parents. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Millikin University, a college in my hometown, while serving and bartending to support myself. Studying philosophy gave me a love for logic and reasoning and taught me to break complex ideas and arguments into smaller, more comprehensible ideas and arguments.

After college, I spent several years working in the “real world,” not sure where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. I missed applying my critical thinking skills that I developed studying philosophy, but I knew that continuing my philosophical studies was only going to cause me to be detached from reality and the everyday problems that people face. That is when a friend encouraged me to consider law school. I loved the idea of putting my critical thinking skills to work solving real-life problems.

After visiting the University of Arizona in March (now I know why they plan that visit for the Spring), I fell in love with the desert and the beauty that the Southwest offers. I packed up my beloved pup, Wrigley (go Cubs!), and headed to Tucson, where I attended the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law on a full scholarship.

I graduated law school in 2019 and moved to Phoenix with my now-husband. In 2020, I began practicing in employment law, and never looked back. I truly love employment law. It touches almost every single person because most of us have either been an employee or an employer. We spend a significant part of our waking lives at work. If work is enjoyable, it can make life enjoyable. On the other hand, if work is a nightmare, it can make life a nightmare.

I love helping people navigate difficult work situations and—hopefully—helping them transition away from a toxic, unlawful work situation so they can begin a new chapter in their life. I enjoy being a source of relief and support during what I know can be an incredibly difficult time for my clients. Helping someone to transition away from an awful, stressful situation and helping to restore some hope that something better is waiting for them in their future is the best part of this job.
